Nissan Expands Tat’ees Championship to New Middle East Markets

Nissan has announced the launch of the second season of the Nissan Tat’ees Championship 2026-2027, following the success of its inaugural season in Saudi Arabia in 2025. This season will have a wider regional reach, with rounds added in the UAE and Qatar alongside the Saudi competitions, bringing together desert motorsport enthusiasts from across the Middle East, culminating in the regional finals in Hail.

Championship Schedule

The championship is set to kick off with its first round in Jeddah on November 20–21, 2026, followed by the Dammam round on December 11–12. The competition will then move to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar before returning to Saudi Arabia for the final round and regional finale in Hail in March 2027.

Commenting on the announcement, Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President and President, Middle East, KSA, India, and CIS – Nissan and INFINITI, said: “Nissan’s motorsport legacy is built on a passion for performance and competition. Through Tat’ees, we are connecting that heritage with a sport deeply rooted in the region and investing in the talent and communities behind it. The success of our first season in Saudi Arabia has given us a strong foundation to expand into more markets across the Middle East, creating more opportunities for drivers to compete on a regional stage. Our ambition is to build a lasting regional championship, with Saudi Arabia at its heart, and bring Tat’ees to more countries across the region in the years ahead.”

Championship Categories & Participating Vehicles

The second season will feature several competition categories, welcoming Nissan vehicles as well as models from other brands. The new season places particular emphasis on inclusivity, introducing dedicated categories for female drivers alongside amateur and professional classes. Rounds in Saudi Arabia will be held under the supervision of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, while events in other countries will be organized in coordination with the relevant local regulatory and tourism authorities.

Participating vehicle categories will include modified and unmodified four-wheel-drive vehicles powered by four-, six- or eight-cylinder engines, as well as two-wheel motorcycles and quad bikes. Competitors will take on sandy tracks that demand precision, speed and vehicle control, while adhering to the championship’s technical regulations and approved safety requirements.

The Nissan Tat’ees Championship returns for its second season following its debut in 2025, which featured three rounds and attracted broad participation from amateur and professional drivers. The championship's continued expansion reflects its success in providing a safe and professionally organized platform for desert motorsport competitions. You can explore the Nissan Tatt’eis 2025 Championship competitions in detail. Stay up to date with the latest automotive news and reports by visiting the Motory Car News section.
