Nissan has officially unveiled the new Nissan Tekton 2027, marking a new addition to the Japanese automaker's SUV lineup. The global debut took place in India on July 9, with the Motory team attending the event after receiving an invitation from Nissan to witness the launch firsthand and get a closer look at the brand's latest addition.
Motory team attended the event alongside automotive journalist Tariq Al-Mazjaji, gaining a firsthand look at the Tekton's design, features, and technologies. The team also covered the highlights of the global debut, awaiting the SUV's arrival in the Middle East, including the Saudi market.
Designed to meet customer needs
The all new Nissan Tekton was developed based on customer priorities and their requirements. Nissan conducted extensive studies involving thousands of customers across India, the Middle East, and Africa to gain insights into their expectations and preferences for SUVs.
These insights helped shape various aspects of the vehicle, starting from its exterior, interior design to its advanced technologies and enhanced driving experience.
Nissan Tekton 2027 Engine
The new Nissan is offered with 2 engine options to meet different customer needs. The first option is a 1.0 liter turbocharged engine producing 100 horsepower and 166 Nm of torque. The second option is a more powerful 1.3 liter turbocharged engine delivering 163 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque.
The smaller engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, while the 1.3 liter turbo engine comes with a 6 speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) for improved responsiveness and efficiency. Fuel economy reaches 19.4 km/l with the 1.0 liter turbo and 18.5 km/l with the 1.3 liter turbo.
The 1.3-liter turbo engine is expected to suit Saudi customers seeking stronger performance for long distance driving, as it will be offered in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, the 1.0 liter turbo engine will be available in the Indian market, reflecting Nissan’s focus on adapting its powertrain options to different customer needs and markets.
An Exterior inspired by Nissan Patrol
The new Tekton’s design embodies the iconic identity of the Nissan Patrol, adopting some of its styling cues that reflect strength and a bold presence while maintaining its own character within the compact SUV segment.
Designed to compete in one of the world’s most competitive segments, the SUV combines a modern design with practical, mid size dimensions.

Nissan Tekton 2027 features advanced smart technologies, including a fully digital cabin and modern connectivity systems that enhance comfort and driver interaction.
For safety, it comes with a reinforced structure, 6 airbags, and advanced driver assistance systems such as intelligent cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and blind spot warning.
