Nissan Formula E Team has officially confirmed its driver line-up for the 2026/27 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, pairing Oliver Rowland with Zane Maloney as the series opens its new GEN4 era.
Rowland Set for a Fourth Straight Season with the Team
Rowland's new multi-year deal keeps him with Nissan for a fourth consecutive campaign, extending a relationship that goes back to Season 5 (2018/19), when he joined as a rookie in what was also Nissan's debut year in the sport.

Maloney Brings F2 Pedigree into His Third Formula E Season
Zane Maloney heads into his third season in the fully-electric series off the back of a solid learning curve, having scored top-10 results in São Paulo, Monaco and Tokyo during 2025/26.
The Barbadian earned his Formula E seat on the strength of a standout junior career, taking 11 podiums — including two wins — across the 2023 and 2024 Formula 2 seasons, and finishing fourth in his final F2 campaign. That combination of single-seater pace and two years of Formula E mileage gives him a solid platform as he steps into GEN4 with a top manufacturer.
GEN4 Brings a Major Performance Leap
Season 13 introduces the GEN4 car, a substantial step up from the outgoing GEN3 machinery.
- Race power jumps from 300kW to 450kW
- Attack Mode power rises to 600kW, up from the current 350kW
- Active All-Wheel Drive boosts acceleration and unlocks noticeably faster cornering
- Both drivers will continue preparing for the new era ahead of Pre-Season Testing at Circuito del Jarama in Spain, scheduled for 16–20 November.

Tommaso Volpe, Managing Director and Team Principal, Nissan Formula E Team, said the team is delighted to confirm Oliver and Zane for Season 13, noting that Rowland has grown from a rookie in Season 5 into a World Champion with the squad. He described Maloney as a young driver who already carries two seasons of Formula E experience and F2 results that point to more to come, calling GEN4 the right moment for him to build on that talent — and the pairing of experience and youth a strong foundation for the new era.
Oliver Rowland said he's happy to continue with Nissan for a seventh season overall and a fourth consecutive one with the team, adding that he's excited for the performance step GEN4 will bring and looking forward to having Maloney on the grid, given his strong junior career and two years of Formula E experience.
Zane Maloney said joining Nissan Formula E Team marks an exciting next step, recalling that the team was winning championships with Rowland when he first entered Formula E. He pointed to Rowland's status as a World Champion he grew up watching, and said learning alongside him as a teammate will be valuable as he prepares to hit the ground running from the first race of GEN4.
About Nissan in Formula E
Nissan made its all-electric racing debut in Season 5 (2018/19), becoming the first and only Japanese manufacturer in the championship. In Season 7 (2020/21), it committed long-term to Formula E and to the GEN3 era, running from Season 9 through the end of Season 12.
In April 2022, Nissan took full ownership of its Formula E involvement by acquiring the e.dams team. On 28 March 2024, ahead of the first-ever Tokyo E-Prix, Nissan became the first manufacturer to sign up for the GEN4 era, running through 2030, reinforcing its Ambition 2030 electrification targets.
In Season 11 (2024/25), Nissan Formula E Team won the Drivers' World Championship with Oliver Rowland, who took seven podiums — four of them wins — and three pole positions, sealing the title with two races still to go.
