Ford and RTR Vehicles have expanded their partnership with the launch of the new Bronco RTR, which underwent extensive development and testing on the rugged terrain of Johnson Valley, California. This model combines the bold and fun character of RTR editions with the renowned four-wheel-drive capabilities of the Ford Bronco, delivering high-speed off-road performance inspired by competition, along with exceptional factory-equipped features at no extra customization cost.
The Bronco RTR is part of Ford’s performance-focused lineup, which began with the launch of the Ford Mustang RTR, leveraging the long-standing partnership between Ford and RTR Vehicles in Formula Drift and Ultra4 off-road racing. This initiative aims to offer exceptional options that combine high performance with practical value, catering to a new generation of customers.
Ed Krentz, Chief Engineer of the Bronco program, said: “Whether it’s dirt, rock or mud, we give Bronco customers the choices they need to enjoy the wild,” said Ed Krenz, Bronco chief program engineer. “Bronco RTR fills a new space in the lineup, offering two levels of capability so it’s ready from the factory for thrill-seeking customers.”
High-Performance Off-Road Capability
The Bronco RTR comes standard with its first-ever set of 33-inch off-road tires paired with a high-clearance suspension, providing enhanced performance on challenging terrain, boosting driver confidence, and giving the vehicle a more aggressive, rugged appearance.
For high-speed off-road driving, the optional Sasquatch Package includes 35-inch Goodyear tires and the HOSS 3.0 system with internal Fox shocks, inspired by the first-generation F-150 Raptor, delivering exceptional suspension performance without needing to upgrade to a Bronco Raptor.
“Bronco RTR is built to dominate the dirt, whether you’re in Johnson Valley or on a backwoods trail,” said Vaughn Gittin Jr., founder of RTR Vehicles. “We gave it the suspension tech to handle the hits, but we also sweat the details that matter to drivers. We reinforced the steering, added anti-lag turbo tech and share high-power cooling fan hardware from the Bronco Raptor to help keep Bronco RTR cool during extended trail time and playing in sand.”
Bronco RTR Engine Technologies
The anti-lag turbo in the Bronco RTR uses advanced software inspired by racing, maintaining turbo pressure even when the driver lifts off the throttle. Optimized for off-road conditions, it keeps the turbocharger running continuously for quick throttle response and optimal control on changing terrain, such as deep sand. To ensure peak engine performance under extreme conditions, the Bronco RTR is equipped with a 1,000-watt cooling fan from the Bronco Raptor, proven effective in racing scenarios.
Striking Off-Road Presence
The Bronco RTR stands out with its unique front grille and signature lighting. Its bold off-road presence is enhanced by lime green graphics and RTR Evo6 17-inch wheels with beadlock systems. This vibrant color complements the new Avalanche Gray 2026 paint, also available on the Ford Mustang RTR.
The Bronco RTR will debut at the 2026 Detroit Auto Show, followed by a February appearance at King of the Hammers in Johnson Valley, with additional events throughout the year.
