Where is Tesla in producing the Cybertruck electric truck?

Tesla first presented the cybertruck in 2019, stating that the team behind it will begin work on it in late 2021, however once manufacturing began, it was reported that the timeframe would be pushed back to the end of this year.

According to Reuters on Friday, manufacturing of the anticipated Tesla Cybertruck truck might begin in the first quarter of 2023, and the newest delay is reportedly due to Tesla altering its strategy, as well as strengthening production parameters to extend into other brand contests.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, said in December 2021 that the initial version of the Cybertruck will be different, as it will be a new production with four engines, which is a new number for Tesla and was not previously mentioned when Elon Musk revealed for the first time about the truck.

Elon Musk has already claimed that the supertruck, which is set to begin production, is experiencing supply issues with its manufacturing chips, and this issue might cause a delay in the manufacturing process.

Tesla has also removed the Cybertruck page from its website, possibly indicating that the carmaker is reorganizing the Cybertruck electric truck's specifications and purchase system. Prices are also expected to change, with the following previously published prices:

  • For a version with 250 miles, the price is $39,900.
  • The 300-mile version costs $49,900.
  • The 500-mile version costs $69.90.

Although comparable prototypes of the electric truck were sighted at Tesla's Vermont facility in California, the company stated that its electric Cybertruck, as well as Tesla Model Y sedans, will be manufactured at its Austin-based factory, which will operate this year.
