The British company MINI Group presents the new generation of the MINI Cooper with the launch of the Convertible model, which reflects the brand’s creativity in innovation, and is compatible with the company’s philosophy in manufacturing its convertible cars “Always Open”, as The folding roof opens fully automatically in just 18 seconds, allowing the driver to enjoy the breeze and sunshine, whether he is cruising the city streets or on a trip through country roads or highways.
Mini Cooper Convertible 2025
Stefan Richmann, the Head of the MINI brand said: "We are very proud to be able to offer our customers a true convertible in the current MINI family. Our new MINI Cooper Convertible offers unmistakable, hallmark driving fun, coupled with boundless free-dom and great emotions: Always Open. Iconic design combined with modern technology and connec-tivity make this vehicle an unrivaled experience for our customers,"
For an extra dose of sunshine, the fully automatic soft top can be opened in two ways: either like a sunroof or fully retracted, which is still unique in the premium small car segment. The soft top slides behind the rear seats to save space and can be easily stored in the luggage compartment when folded down.
In the new convertible, outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy every moment, as the company is using the Always Open Timer on the OLED to show the open travel time traveled by the minute, and thus offering fresh air fans a dose of playful ease.
The design emphasizes the character of the new MINI Cooper Convertible with clean surfaces and enhanced features; round LED headlights and a redesigned front grille draw attention to the model's captivating presence with classic design features in a modern interpretation. A variety of exterior and interior paint finishes, along with fresh accents, lend the new Convertible the brand's signature design highlights. Three vehicle trims offer additional options for customizing the MINI Cooper Convertible.
The Interior
Three interior trim options are available for the MINI Cooper Convertible. Each one expresses the modern feel-good concept of the interior in a different way.
In the Classic Trim, the three-spoke steering wheel has a leather-look textile band with coloured accent stitching. In addition, a black and blue knitted surface on the instrument panel and doors provides a rich contrast to the seats, which are offered in either premium fabric or Vescin synthetic leather.
In the Favoured Trim, the interior features a remarkably expressive design. The instrument panel is upholstered in grey-beige houndstooth fabric. The knitted surface in the door panels maintains the welcoming interior design. JCW sport seats are made of perforated synthetic leather with classic accent stitching and an embroidered MINI logo in two colors.
As for the JCW Trim, the interior is showcased in a fully sporty manner. Combined with multi-coloured knitted fabric and black synthetic leather with red stitching, the color scheme reflects the design of the dashboard and door trims. The JCW sport steering wheel replaces the bottom spoke with a black leather band and red stitching to match the color scheme.
The company added a MINI Experience Modes to change the interior ambience and highlight different aspects of the MINI Cooper Convertible - even with the top down. The design of the OLED display also changes depending on the selected setting. For instance, with the In Go-Kart Mode there is a highly dynamic focus on MINI’s racing DNA. The dashboard and the interior door panels are also dominated by the anthracite and red colors.
The Engine
The new Convertible is equipped with three efficient four-cylinder petrol engines that deliver the brand's signature go-kart feel with an impressive engine sound. Like the new MINI Cooper, the convertible model is available in C and S, as well as the performance-oriented trim.
The entry-level trim MINI Cooper C Convertible has an output of 163 hp and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. This trim can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds and has a top speed of 220 km/h.
The performance-enhanced MINI Cooper S Convertible trim has an output of 204 hp and with a maximum torque of 300 Nm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 237 km/h.
