Following a drop in sales of the Mercedes-Benz small sedan A-class, the German company decided to discontinue production in the United States and a few other foreign countries.
It is worth mentioning that the Mercedes-Benz A-class is the lowest-priced car in its class from the Mercedes brand, as the latest version was sold at a starting price of 35,000 US dollars, equivalent to 131,000 Saudi riyals, and despite this price and many features, it did not receive sales figures as high as Mercedes expected.
Mercedes did not make this choice in the heat of the moment; instead, Mercedes had already declared that the production of the A-class version will be discontinued, and now Mercedes has formally confirmed this decision.
A Mercedes representative confirmed the company's aim to make the GLA the official alternative for the A-Class in the United States, with prices starting at $37,450, equivalent to 141,000 Saudi riyals.
