Some details and confirmed images have leaked about Mazda's CX-60, which belongs to the next generation of the Japanese brand's SUV family. Leaked images of the new CX-60 midsize car leaked online less than 24 hours before it was scheduled to be shown.
The new CX-60 has Mazda's all-new rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive chassis, as well as a six-cylinder engine lineup linked with hybrid power systems.
The latest images also show that the car does not vary greatly from Mazda's present design language, but instead has bolder side corners, a more flat front, and innovative new headlights with separate daylighting panels.
The inside of the car was clearly unveiled this time, with the CX-60 featuring a 5 leather seats cabin and the 2022 CX-60 being Mazda's first entirely digital instrument display, including the Mazda big infotainment screen, a new-style steering wheel, and other elegant touches.
For the first time for the Japanese brand, the hybrid powertrain (PHEV) will be presented in the CX-60 in compatibility with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with an electric motor for maximum combined output of more than 223 KW.
While the transmission specifications have yet to be released, it is expected that a single equipped automatic transmission will be supplied for Mazda's current generation front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles.
Notably, the bigger Mazda CX-80, as well as the CX-70 and CX-90 SUVs, are set to join the lineup later this year or in 2023.
