Mazda recently declared its desire to release a premium rear-wheel-drive SUV powered by hybrid engines, and the CX-60 hybrid was presented as the first hybrid model in the lineup.
On February 8, Mazda published the first images of the CX 60, which will be formally launched on March 8 and will compete with the Volvo XC60 and Lexus NX.
Mazda has not yet confirmed the details of the old car, while it has confirmed that it will build the CX60 on its recently developed rear-wheel drive platform and is expected to follow the manufacture of this car both the CX70 and the CX80, which will be available with three rows of seats.
Mazda has also stated that it will finish the development of SUV models within two years, with gasoline and hybrid engines available.
Mazda has revealed that the CX-60 will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain that combines the company's 2.5-liter inline-4 engine with a 300-horsepower electric motor, as well as an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Mazda did not say when the first cars in this category will enter dealerships, but it did mention that the CX-50 crossover, which was previously revealed, will be available in 2023.
