The American company confirmed an increase in Lucid Air’s price after the deliveries started not long ago, and the CEO stated that: “The world has changed dramatically from the time we first announced Lucid Air back in September 2020”.
Lucid will start applying the new pricing on June 1, and those who ordered prior to the price increase will pay the previous amount, but here are the new prices:
- Lucid Air Pure: from $77,400 (290,250 SAR) to $87,400 (327,750 SAR)
- Lucid Air Touring: from $95,000 (356,250 SAR) to $107,400 (402,750 SAR)
- Lucid Air Grand Touring: from $139,000 (521,250 SAR) to $154,000 (577,500 SAR)
- Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance: the price didn’t change, it starts at $179,000 (671,250 SAR)
The losses that lucid suffered were one of the main reasons for this price increase, as it only delivered 360 units in the first quarter of 2022, and the company recorded an 81 million dollar loss.
On the bright side, Lucid is setting aside a 5.4 billion dollar reserve amount to help keep the company running through 2023, along with 30,000 reservations for Lucid Air, there’s also a purchase agreement for 100,000 units for Saudi Arabia.
