Korean brands dominate the list of J.D. Power’s 2022 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study, occupying three of the top five spots, by that; Kia jumps two spots to take the No.1 ranking in this study, due to it having only 145 problems per 100 vehicles.
Kia’s popular Sorento has taken the top spot in the study’s Upper Midsize SUV category. The Sorento is built at Kia’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in West Point, Georgia
This study, looks at dependability over a three-year ownership period, meaning the vehicles evaluated in this ranking are 2019 models. J.D. Power says: “seven of the highest-rated brands in its 2019 Initial Quality Study were among the 10 highest ranked in this 2022 study”.

Power Vehicle Dependability Study substantiate Kia’s unrelenting commitment to the quality, durability, and craftsmanship of our award-winning vehicle line,” said Sean Yoon, president and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America. “Furthermore, the Sorento’s category win speaks to the world-class ownership experience we deliver to our customers.”
