Nissan has lately taken a number of steps toward electric development in its future models, as the global market has become used to Nissan's different versions, which have occupied global market sales in recent years, such as the new Frontier cars and the iconic sports car Nissan Z.
According to the plans agreed within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, more than 35 electric versions will be developed and these versions will share 5 different and upgraded platforms; more than $25 billion equal to 94 billion Saudi riyals, will be invested in the electric development project over the next five years.
Nissan will discontinue developing IC engine versions for global markets, while continuing to develop them to a limited level for US markets, and will instead focus on manufacturing electric versions for the global market.
The question is whether Nissan's sales in the Gulf market will decline due to the difficulty of using electric cars as the main mode of transportation, due to the nature of the Gulf countries and the time length in which electric cars can be adopted.
