Honda Pilot has secured the prestigious 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), thanks to its outstanding performance in various safety evaluations. The car excelled in Crash Worthiness, pedestrian front crash prevention, and headlight performance, earning top ratings across these categories. Moreover, the introduction of enhanced rear seat belts significantly improved second-row passenger protection in IIHS' updated moderate overlap front test.
"Safety for Everyone"
Launched in the region in 2023, the Honda Pilot embodies the brand's "Safety for Everyone" philosophy. All trims come standard with Honda Sensing™, a suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies designed to ensure the safety of all road users.
The Pilot's Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure is a key factor in its top safety rating. This structure is engineered to protect occupants in a variety of frontal collisions.
The car also features Honda's innovative front passenger airbag, which utilizes a three-chamber design initially introduced in the Civic. This airbag is effective in angled frontal impacts, where lateral collision forces can cause an occupant's head to rotate severely or slide off the airbag, increasing the risk of serious damage.
Key safety features contributing to the Pilot's TSP+ rating include:
- User-friendly seat belt latch for child seat anchors
- Good rating in Crashworthiness
- Seat belt reminders
- High-performance headlights
- Effective front crash prevention
- Standard Daytime Running Lights
