Following seven consecutive seasons and nine world titles, Geely today officially announced that the Geely Preface car model will take over from the Lynk & Co 03 to compete in the FIA TCR World Tour, opening a brand-new chapter for the Geely brand in global motorsport.
Geely Preface Makes Its Mark in Global Racing
The Geely Preface car model is offered both as an ICE and a hybrid and is based on the CMA platform. It has been entrusted by more than 690,000 customers since its launch, and it was ranked number one in sales in 2024 among A-segment ICE sedans in China.
"This is an important milestone for Geely. The Geely car brand of Geely Auto Group is our first and largest domestic brand, founded in 1996, and it is now expanding internationally," said Victor Yang, Senior Vice President of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.
"We believe that the TCR World Tour is an ideal way to showcase the Geely car brand, its products and its technology to car fans and consumers around the world," he added.
Cyan Racing Partnership Continues
The Geely Preface car is under development now for the TCR regulation, and Geely has opted to continue its cooperation with Cyan Racing.
"We are very excited to bring the Geely Preface to international competition and to continue our cooperation with Cyan Racing. Cyan Racing will act as the development team for the new car, and it will also field the Geely Preface car in the TCR World Tour from the 2026 season as team Geely Cyan Racing," said Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, Head of Geely Group Motorsport.
Swedish-based Cyan Racing has been involved in circuit racing since its inception in 1996. It has represented several brands of Geely Group in different racing categories over the years, and it has delivered eleven world titles for Geely Group brands Polestar and Lynk & Co in touring car racing from 2017 to 2025.
"We are very happy to continue the cooperation with the group. This will be the fifth car brand and the fifth technical regulation that we take on. Last weekend, we finished a 7-year-long stint with the Lynk & Co 03 in the TCR World Tour, winning the 2025 drivers and team titles, and a total of nine world titles with the Lynk & Co 03, so we know expectations are set high for the Geely Preface," said Christian Dahl, Founder and Owner of Cyan Racing.
Geely Preface Prepares for the 2026 TCR Season
TCR World Tour is the top international touring car category with the FIA World title for drivers and teams. Car enthusiasts and racing fans will see the Geely Preface on the grid at the 2026 season premiere, scheduled for April 2026.
