The sixth orbital plane satellites of the "Geely Future Mobility Constellation", also known as GEESATCOM, were successfully launched aboard a single rocket carrying 12 satellites from waters near Rizhao, Shandong Province, China.
This marks the third consecutive launch within a two-month period. The first launch took place in August, when Geely deployed 11 satellites to enhance IoT services. With the latest launch, all satellites have now successfully entered their designated orbits and are operating normally, with Geely officially declaring the mission a complete success.
Geely Making History in Satellite Technology
GEESATCOM is a global low-Earth-orbit satellite IoT constellation independently designed, developed, constructed, and operated by Geespace, the commercial aerospace company under Geely Holding Group.
From 2022 to 2025, Geespace completed six consecutive launches to accomplish the Phase I constellation deployment. To date, including earlier test satellites deployed in orbital planes, the number of satellites in orbit has reached 64.
Direct and Efficient Satellite Communications
With its satellites currently in orbit, GEESATCOM can provide one-to-two-layer real-time satellite communication coverage within the 60° north–south latitude range. The system supports 340 million communications per day. The constellation can serve up to 20 million users worldwide, including approximately 5 million high-frequency users and 15 million medium- and low-frequency users.
Protecting user data and connectivity, both transmissions and terminals utilise an advanced, fully self-developed adaptive anti-signal disruption algorithm, offering ultra-strong resistance of 50 dB. The system also has robust anti-interception capabilities, ensuring the security of transmitted information.
Integrated In-House Development and Operations
Backed by long-term, large-scale R&D investment, Geespace has developed full-stack in-house capabilities covering space, ground, and application segments.
These capabilities span constellation system design and verification, self-developed payload platforms, satellite mass production, autonomous constellation operation and management, as well as the development and production of application communication chips and multiple terminal modules.
Service fees for the constellation’s IoT communications are just one per cent of traditional satellite communication provider costs, significantly lowering the threshold for widespread adoption.
Building on medium- and low-speed data communication services, the constellation allows flexible configuration across multiple dimensions, such as real-time responsiveness, priority scheduling, acknowledgement mechanisms, message length, and service frequency, tailored to different application scenarios.
Global-Ready Commercial Validation
Geespace has completed the R&D and mass production of self-developed satellite communication chips, modules, and terminal products, and has successfully passed commercial validation testing (POC tests). This has created a complete business ecosystem covering the space segment (satellites) – ground systems, applications, and products.
Leveraging GEESATCOM’s global satellite IoT coverage, Geespace can provide stable and reliable real-time satellite IoT communication services for a wide range of scenarios, including intelligent connected vehicles, marine fisheries, construction machinery, low-altitude mobility, emergency communications, transportation and logistics, public infrastructure, energy, water management, agriculture, forestry, and animal husbandry.
