DS Raises the Bar in its E-Tense Electric Vehicle

DS is still working up a sweat to prove its ability in competing with German companies and is getting ready for the electric battlefield, as DS revealed a performance prototype of the E-Tense and described it as a rolling laboratory for electric performance technology.

We first saw this car at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show, but over time, technological advances became more prominent in this car, and it evolved to produce 805 hp all thanks to a dual-motor powertrain which was developed based on the successful DS program in Formula E.

The most innovative feature of this car is that it can drive without necessarily using the conventional brakes, without giving up calipers and rotors for safety. Also, DS developed the carbon-fiber structure for this prototype accompanied by a suspension tailored for road and track driving.

Lastly, Formula E champions Jean-Eric Vergne and Antonio Felix da Costa will take part in the process of developing E-Tense Performance, but for now, DS did not confirm the actual production of this car, and if not, we will probably see the technologies mentioned above in DS’s future cars.  For more about the latest EVs, you can click here.
