Exclusive Interview with Afzal Kahn

In this section, we highlight the questions that were asked to Afzal Kahn, which shed light on his innovative vision in the world of design.
Q: Mr. Afzal, you’ve been a designer for decades now. Can you tell us how it all began?
A: I started my design journey in the 1980s as an architect at the age of 17. I’ve always had a passion for cars and creativity. By the 1990s, I designed my first alloy wheel and my very first clients included individuals who are now members of royal families. That was a turning point for me. It proved that people were looking for individuality in automotive design.
Q: What makes Kahn Design different from other automotive brands?
A: Everything we create is original and pushes the boundaries. If you understand classic lines and individuality, then Kahn is the brand for you. Many companies have been inspired by what we've done, some even copied. But the essence of Kahn is about authenticity, craftsmanship, and doing what others won't even dare to try.
Q: Saudi Arabia is a key market for you. What are your plans for the region?
A: Saudi Arabia is incredibly important to us. We are actively looking for the right partner—someone with a well-established business in parts or automotive accessories, especially those with warehousing capacity and experience in investing in stock. The partner we choose will be treated like part of our business. We will design specifically for Saudi Arabia—tailor-made conversions for models like the Land Cruiser, Nissan Patrol, Hilux, and more. These designs will be exclusive to that market.
Q: Are there any new developments on the manufacturing side?
A: Yes, we are currently in the process of acquiring our own alloy wheel foundry in China, which also has a facility in Italy. This is a huge step forward. It means we’ll have full control over quality, design, and pricing. In the past, we worked with manufacturers—we didn’t own the process. Now, we will. That’s a game-changer.
Q: The issue of counterfeit products is significant in this region. What’s your view on that?
A: It’s sad. I’ve seen too many customers in Saudi unknowingly buying copies, believing they’re genuine. These fake wheels are extremely dangerous—it’s a matter of life and death. Everyone who buys a copy should seriously think about the safety of their family and children. Would you put something untested and poorly made on a car your loved ones are in? That’s why I’m very cautious about who I work with. Anyone representing Kahn must fully respect the brand and commit to selling only original products. Our identity is built on integrity—and safety is part of that.
Q: Any final message to your fans and potential partners in the Middle East?
A: We are fully committed to the region. We’re developing exclusive products and looking for partners who understand quality and creativity. If you're ready to lead the market with originality, then Kahn Design is ready to work with you.
In conclusion, this interview makes it clear that Afzal Kahn’s vision is a comprehensive strategy driven by passion, quality and innovation. Kahn Design consistently strives to deliver the best by relying on clear values and strong partnerships across various global markets, especially in the Saudi market.
