Mercedes finally unveiled its second EV which will be known as AMG EQE 2023, we were also provided with several pieces of information regarding its features and the performance numbers for both trims; EQE 43 4MATIC and EQE 53 4MATIC+.
Is the Performance that Impressive ?
EQE 43 4MATIC
- Dual Motor
- AWD
- 469 hp
- 858 Nm of torque
- Accelerates 0-100 Km/Hour in 4.2 seconds
- Top speed is 210 Km/Hour
- 90.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack
- Car range is between 462-533 Km
- 11 kW on-board charger
- A fast-charging capability of 170 kW in 15 minutes which allows the car to drive up to 180 Km
EQE 53 4MATIC+
- Dual Motor
- AWD
- 617 hp
- 950 Nm of torque
- Accelerates 0-100 Km/Hour in 3.5 seconds
- Top speed is 220 Km/Hour
- Car range is between 444-518 Km
The buyer can also opt for an AMG Dynamic Plus Package that will boost the power to 677 hp and the torque to 1,000 Nm, so now the car can accelerate from 0-100 Km/Hour in 3.3 seconds with 240 Km/ Hour of speed. An Eco Charging function was added to reduce the load in the battery while charging and keep it safe for longer periods of time.
Driving Modes
- Sport & Sport+: to optimize performance (Sport+ mode can provide the driver with full output and the Sport mode provides 90% of the output)
- Comfort: to optimize the car’s range while reducing the output by 15-20%
What Makes the Exterior so Unique ?
We still don’t know that much about the design, but exterior features the following:
- Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires designed for high-performance EVs
- Closed grille with vertical chrome strips
- A front bumper that combines the exterior color with a high-gloss black paint and chrome accents
- Rear wing to decrease drag
- Aerodynamic wheels
What will you Find Inside this Car ?
The AMG badges can be found everywhere in the cabin, and the passengers can now sit comfortably in an AMG sport seats made from Artico leather with red stitching, and if you're looking for a more eco-friendly option, you can get the Nappa leather seats.
And the most impressive feature in this cabin is the optional MBUX Hyperscreen, which is made from 3 different screens stretching across the dashboard.
Is it Safe?
Since it’s a high-performance electric car, it must be equipped with advanced systems and capabilities like:
- AMG Ride Control+ air suspension
- Rear wheels can turn up to 3.6 degrees to help control the car on high speeds
- Front and rear wheels turn in opposite directions for more control over the vehicle especially for parking
- A secure braking system backed up by excellent front and rear calipers
- AMG ceramic braking system if you want to take the car to track, but you’ll have to upgrade to the 21-inch wheels
